HISTORY
The Rualité’s company (formed by the alliance of the word « street » and « reality » in French) has been founded in 2002 by the choreographer Bintou Dembele. She gathers artists from Hip-hop dance (popping, break-dance, KRUMP, Flexing, voguing, Wacking, Electro..) music and singing. She encounters many searcher from various disciplines (philosophy, sociology, anthropology, communication sciences). Up to now 6 shows has been created : l’Assise, LOL, Mon appart’ en dit long, Z.H, S/T/R/A/T/E/S-Quartet, Le Syndrome de l’initié. The Z.H’s creation has been the object of a documentary co-realized by the photographer Enrico Bartolucci. The Rualité’s shows and performances are presented in France, Belgium, Myanmar, Chile, Guyana, Italia, Macedonie, Mali, Senegal, Sweden and in Switzerland as well as on stages or museum and art’s center : The ethnography’s museum in Geneva, BOZAR Brussels, Maison des Métallos in Paris, Maison de la musique in Nanterre, Centre chorégraphique National de la rochelle, Fari and foni waati de Bamako’s Festival. Those creations are anchored in a choreographic writing with several influences, which mix repetitive music ( with the composer and guitarist Charles Amblard), and the rythmics poliphonies (with the vocalist Charlène adjembé). The Rualité’s company develop an expertise in original transmission projects, lead in French Guyana during 12 years (Saint-laurent du Maroni, Awala-Yalimapo, Matoury), in Myanmar with l’Institut français in parisian region in relation with partners from le Théatre Ivry-Antoine Vitez, Nanterre/Maison de la Musique, or les Rencontres Choréographiques of Seine-Saint-Denis. She aims at a large audience in schools, prisons and universities. She gives a particular attention to the professional recognition from little known esthetical and geographical territory. Over the 2018-2019 season, the dance company lead a unprecedented continuing formation called DETER destined to professionals dancers who integrated the Indes Galantes’ project. The Rualité’s company is supported by the Ile de France region for the artistical and cultural permanency, the cultural ministry (DGCA et DRAC Ile-de-France) and the departemental council of Essonne and Adami.
